XENTA AND CENTRO STILE DESIGN HAVE WORKED TOGETHER FOR THE ADVANCED FULL STABILITY AMBITIOUS PROJECT IN PREVIEW ON EXPLORER 62 3864 2163 XENTA

XENTA, a leading company in the development and production of steering systems for boats, yachts, superyachts and professional units, is characterized by offering extremely modular and integrable products and services. Its products and equipment can be adapted to the needs of individual yachts with custom solutions according to the type of hull, naval design and performance.

CENTROSTILEDESIGN, a company recognized worldwide for design and engineering, in recent years is also focused on the development of the hulls thanks to Massimo De Luca, recent entry into the team, rich in a consolidated knowledge in the study of hulls and naval architecture, after years of experience in the most important shipyards in the world.

EXPLORER 62 ADVANCED FULL STABILITY

The strong aesthetic personality of Explorer 62 provided by the high and straight bow, is part of a naval project specifically made for this yacht, aimed at maximizing the hull length, while giving protection from the waves. It also guarantees a safe hull throughout its speed range, even in rough seas, optimizing comfort on board.

In terms of technology, it is important to underline the presence on board of the innovative AFS, Advanced Full Stability, a single management system that guarantees the simultaneous control of the installed stabilization and attitude systems.

Different operating modes can be set for the Dynamic Flaps, entirely built by XENTA and capable of an uncommon speed of action. The flaps, characterized by extreme precision, take less than two seconds to switch from positive to negative incidence and together with the other on-board systems, fully integrated, allow pitch control just with the Auto Pitch function, roll control with the Auto Roll function and combined controls in Auto Pitch & Roll mode.

In Auto mode, in addition to taking pitch and roll into account, the system automatically adjusts the incidence of the rudders to help the boat turn. Alternatively, you can select Manual mode, which leaves full control of the flap system to the yacht’s captain.

This solution makes the boat not only absolutely user friendly and easily handling even by a non-professional captain, but also significantly increases the pleasure of navigation, offering a more comfortable, safe and economical cruising experience.

XENTA at the Genoa Boat Show 2020

XENTA at the Genoa Boat Show 2020 1200 600 XENTA

On your yacht power is nothing without XENTA! The latest hi-tech releases in terms of guidance systems for yachts and superyachts, at the XENTA stand at the Genoa Boat Show.

XENTA, a company that produces the most advanced steering systems for yacht and superyacht, of every shape and type, sailing or motor, but above all equipped with any propulsion system, will exhibit for the first time this year at the Genoa Boat Show – stand no. PW20 c/o Power Village section – all its technology. Strong of more than 4. 000 installations realized on hulls of all the main premium brands of the international nautical market – Ferretti, Azimut, Riva, Monte Carlo Yachts, Pershing, Tecnomar for Lamborghini, Princess, Sunseeker, CCN, Viking, Hatteras, Columbus… – XENTA has chosen the showcase of the most important Italian boat show – from 1st to 6th October 2020, stand PW20 – to present the latest news of its production, the most updated versions of a technology that is driving the nautical world towards the 4.0 boat.
The Drive by Wire technology, at the base of XENTA systems, exploits electronics and mechatronics to make by wire any connection system between the dashboard and the organs responsible for the motion (motors, inverters and propellers) and steering (rudders) of the boat, replacing any mechanical connection with electrical signals. All this creates a network able to convey the information inside the XENTA electronic control system. The digital information exchanged between the rudder wheel located on both steering positions (internal and external) of the XENTA control system with the Main Control Unit, allows a dedicated software to control the rudders of the yacht with micrometric precision. The rudders, moved by electro-hydraulic actuators, no longer work only with coupling bar, but independently from each other, moving independently and able to rotate on their vertical axis with different incidences depending on the driving conditions. The result is perfect trim and turns, at all vessel speeds and with all loads, with the minimum loss of speed and the smallest turning radius.
The system also has a Tactile version able to offer the driver unique sensations, a real automotive style driving feeling. The wheel is Self-Centering, that is able to return to a central position autonomously, thus optimizing the end of the turn. Another strong point of the XENTA Helm by Wire system is the Autocourse* function that allows the captain to maintain the chosen heading direction without the need for continuous corrections. The system is able to learn the movements imprinted on the rudder wheel and then progressively replace the captain in a completely natural way.

The electro-hydraulic steering system can be completed with a XENTA Joystick package, coupled with maneuvering propellers, which includes Docking and Tiller/Cruise features, for a dynamic and fun navigation experience. The Cruise function allows you to increase the constant speed or decelerate, the Tiller allows you to correct the course as if you were acting on the rudder.

Additional functionality, which can be requested with the XENTA Joystick, is the innovative DPS (Dynamic Positioning System), a virtual anchor that independently steers the boat keeping it in a static position at the desired point.

*Available only for some motoryachts.

PERSHING 7X: the Mondolfo yard choses XENTA Integrated System once again

PERSHING 7X: the Mondolfo yard choses XENTA Integrated System once again 1024 683 XENTA

In recent years, the Cantiere di Mondolfo has undergone an incredible evolution that has led to the development of Generazione X, a range of models based on four core pillars: design, technology, performance and the use of ultralight materials. XENTA will slot into the technology and performance areas, flanking the yard in its development process.

The Pershing 7X is at the very top end of that evolutionary journey, taking the progress made in recent years and improving on its still further. It boasts category-topping performance, unleashing a top speed of 50 knots and fast cruising one of 42 knots with a range of 300 nm. A single evolved interface integrates propulsion and steering systems control, navigation and onboard monitoring.

This technology is the fruit of the combined skills of Top System, Onyx and XENTA for the EasySet propulsion control system and the evolved Steer by Wire electro-hydraulic steering system. The latter are flanked by Naviop-Simrad LOOP for navigation and monitoring systems. The new version of the EasySet system is the product of the experience built up aboard the latest Pershing models and can optimize trim and performance underway, simplifying the use of surface drives whilst still allowing the helmsman to bypass it at any time and return to manual control.

Also available is an innovative XENTA Joystick functionality coupled with the surface drive which offers different advanced modes including Easy Handling for revolutionary maneuverability in port and tight waters. This is enhanced in the case of the Pershing 7X by the independent control function for the two drives coupled with a 48V thruster. In addition to all of the aforementioned, there is also the DPS (Dynamic Positioning System), which holds the boat’s position even in strong winds or currents: the perfect solution for when you are readying to moor or waiting to refuel or for a bridge to raise.
